You have, either by chance or on purpose, stumbled upon The Reading Room, where you can take a moment out of your day to enjoy some fictional stories that will make you think, wonder, or maybe even laugh. Before you embark such a journey, take some time to ponder these quotes:

"Imagination has brought mankind through the dark ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity."

-L. Frank Baum, author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

"Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere."

-Carl Sagan, American astronomer and astrochemist

Updates...

7/21/08:

Hello again, everyone! Thanks to everyone who has visited the website. I'm sure you have at least read one story on the site so far. Take time to read another! And, so that commenting on the stories becomes easier, I have enlisted the help of a friend to create a commenting system that will hopefully make this site a little more two-sided, at least in regards to feedback. You do not need to fill in the part that says "your mail" unless you want a question answered or something similar. Hope you enjoy the new feature!

In other news, I'm currently working on a new story to add to the site, so check back for another update! Thanks again!

-Nathan

6/18/08:

Hello, and welcome to The Reading Room!

My name is Nathan Perriello. I have created this website to display my miscellaneous short stories.

For your convenience, after you read each story, you have the opportunity to email your comments, advice, or whatever you please to comments.readingroom@gmail.com. There are some inevitable spelling errors, since I usually first write stories down in a notebook, then copy them over to the computer. If you could help me out and point out these mistakes and others, too, that would be greatly appreciated! Your input can ultimately make the output more enjoyable, so take a breather and read a little!

Thank you for visiting this fledgling site, and have a wonderful day!

-Nathan :)
